Transition Time

Mike will be staying in Washington for the next two years and then join me after his retirement. We are cozy in a 500 SF studio apartment on Queen Anne in Seattle for the next month. It will be lovely for him without all my stuff cluttering the space. This is the same apartment complex he lived in before and, the day he called them to see about an apartment was the same day notice was given for a studio on the top floor. Because he had rented there before he moved to the top of the waiting list - no wait! It was ordained timing. Check out the views!

I said goodbye to my car. I sold it to a very nice man who was born and raised on Maui. He moved here when he was 22 to work for Boeing but misses the heart and ambiance of the islands. It felt so right to be selling my car to him.

We have the condo papers to sign so by the end of the week will be ready to go, except for the packing. It feels a little overwhelming since I'm not just packing a few things for a vacation. We will mail a few boxes to pick up when we first get there and haul as much as we can reasonably carry on the plane. The rest will be mailed over time as I determine what is really needed. What is really needed is some relaxation on a beach! It's getting so close...

Well, yesterday was my first official day and I sure miss you being here. It has been snowing a lot and the boys did not make a snow man for the new neighbor. Its just not the same. I hope you are having a peaceful and relaxing time. By the way, it is crazy that you sold your car to a guy from MAUI! CRAZY how it all worked out.
